NOSTALGIA IS A DISEASE

Short comic zine in 2024. If you really loved this city, you wouldn't let it die.

How Not To Care

I made this book while my wrist was injured, so I was practicing doing things that don't require a lot of drawing. A bunch of short comic vignettes about how you're caring incorrectly and should feel ashamed, if not outright attacked, about it. I am afraid of twitter and also feelings. 12 pages b+w.

The Patron Saints of Petty Annoyances

A series of cards about things that annoy you but then you feel guilty about how angry they make you but then you just get angry at yourself

Staring Contest With A Mound of Earth

A little zine, a combo of simple black and white comic illustrations. Many of mushroom infestations and delusional body horror. Sold out in 2018

Passionate about Proper Dishwashing Behaviour

A Tract to Shame Your Loved Ones.

I washed dished "professionally" for six years - and as a result have become pretty pedantic about the process. This tract covered common annoyances with bad dishwashing technique, gradually covering the extreme, insane, and downright occult. The second pressing of this book was created with laminated pages, handing from a keychain, so that it could safely and proudly be displayed about one's kitchen sink, where it could do the most good. A favourite of parents sending their kids off on their own for the first time, or roommates looking for healthy ways to express their mounting rage.

The copy pictured has been hanging in my own kitchen for the better part of a decade.

Fully Automated

Debuted at TCAF 2017, originally risographed. This is the second edition digital printing. Drawn by me and written by Shivaun Hoad, 12 pages, 3-colors, no waiting. A luxury resort is test run before opening weekend with a small batch of guests. The technitions try to react as the AI comes up with it's own ideas about how to keep everyone happy.

Idols of the Cave

Idols of the Cave was a project I finished in 2016. It tells the same story from the perspective of three different characters, including the ghost of a murder victim who doesn't realize he's in love with his killer. It's a tiny bit gay and has a fair bit of genitals in it. Each set of books was shuffled, with the hope that each new reader would experience a slightly different story - as each character sees themselves and everyone else very differently, and has a a lot to add to each telling. Idols of the Cave was inspired by Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa, and a few lines of the song the Mariner’s Revenge Song by the Decemberists. Sadly, Idols of the Cave has been out of print for a few years now, and while I love the story and characters, it's unlike I'll ever reprint it.
